Reflections on Earth Day 2025: Are We Going Forward or Backward?

Dr. Ricardo Salvador, a visiting guest speaker to UW–Madison who is an advisor at the Union of Concerned Scientists, will explore the question, are there roles and responsibilities for agricultural scientists in this era of uncertainty and challenge?

As a senior scientist with, director of, and now advisor to the Food and Environment Program at the Union of Concerned Scientists, Salvador has over four decades of experience working with citizens, scientists, economists, and politicians to transition our current food system into one that grows healthy foods while employing sustainable and socially equitable practices.
