This two-day event will feature two keynote addresses by Dr. Aimée Classen from the University of Michigan, who will be sharing her fascinating research on global change and ecosystem ecology. Dr. Classen is a professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan and is the director of the University of Michigan Biological Station.
Research in Dr. Classen’s lab explores how ecosystems function and how interactions, both biotic and abiotic, influence patterns and processes within and among ecosystems. Dr. Classen has published extensively on a broad range of topics, including climate change impacts on soil biota and soil carbon dynamics.
In addition to Dr. Classen’s keynote addresses, the symposium will feature research talks and poster presentations by UW-Madison graduate and undergraduate students and postdocs, showcasing their latest findings in ecology and environmental science.
